3 Versatile Best Travel Backpack for Women that Last A Lifetime
This post is about best travel backpack for women.
Looking for the best travel backpack for women? You have come to the right place! In this post I’ll be going into immense detail on the five bags I have used and abused throughout my travels. Not only have they held up extremely well over the years, but they are the ones I know without a doubt I would buy again.
Whether you’re looking for an everyday adventure bag, a photography bag, or a heavy-duty travel bag, there is a bag on here for you! Without further ado, let’s get into the nitty gritty of the three best travel backpack for women!
Osprey: Porter Travel Pack 46 – Best Travel Backpack Carry On
Meet Carl (yes, I named by bag). I bought this bag for my first backpacking trip in Europe, and he’s been my trusted companion ever since! I literally never travel without this bag. Whether it’s a domestic, week-long vacation or a month stint in Europe, this pack is strapped to my back.
The reasons I love this bag are countless, but I’m going to attempt to work through them because this bag deserves all the praise!
TSA Approved – Best Travel Backpack Carry On Size
This bag was built as a carry on, so it will fit overhead on almost all flights. You won’t need to buy another piece of luggage ever again if you have this bag in your corner. I love not having to worry about the dimensions of my bag. I know I could pack this bag as full as possible, and it would fit just fine on any flight I’m planning on taking.
Clam Shell Opening – Best Travel Backpack for Women
I love that this bag works as a duffel with the clam shell opening. You can lay it down wherever you want and have access to everything in the bag. No need to dig around for that one thing you packed all the way at the bottom of the bag. I love this feature because I don’t even need to unpack. I can just open my bag and have all of my stuff already organized.
Tightening Straps
These tightening straps are a serious game changer. You can stuff every last bit of clothes or gear into this bag, and then use the tightening straps to shrink the bag back to a decent size. I can’t tell you how many times I got worried my bag wouldn’t fit overhead with all the stuff I packed into it. But then I just tighten those front straps, and it’s like those last-minute items I packed aren’t even there!
Organization- Best Backpack for Female Travelers
Every travel backpack for women needs to have some kind of organizational feature. This bag is no exception. There are pockets everywhere on this thing! I can’t express how invaluable it is to have outside pockets on a bag like this. When on the go, it is so easy to just put the things you need to grab quickly right in an exterior pocket rather than having to open the whole clam shell.
There are also pockets inside the bag which I love using for my socks and underwear. These pockets act like a packing cube, sucking the air out and condensing the items inside to make extra room for everything else.
Laptop Sleeve
Whether you’re a digital nomad or just want to pack your laptop for some Netflix in transit, you won’t have to worry about finding a spot for your laptop in this bag. The laptop sleeve in large enough not only to fit my gigantic 16” MacBook pro, but I have also been able to add other things in there when I’ve been traveling for longer periods of time. I have been able to add a whole other laptop, my kindle, a notebook or two, and my charging packing cube! I might go as far to say that this is my favorite feature
Collapsible Straps
Wish you could carry your backpack like a duffel without the hassle of dragging the straps? Well this bag has you covered! The straps have their own storage space on the bag itself. I always use this feature whenever I’m flying. I’ll use the backpack straps through security to get to my gate, and then I’ll convert the bag into a duffel to make storing it overhead easier.
Other Sizes
I own the 46 Liter bag but there is also a 30 Liter bag if that is more your size.
Wandrd All-New Prvke 31L – Best Travel Backpack for Europe
Let me introduce you to my new best friend! I recently bought my Wandrd Prvke backpack because I wanted a bag that would not only work as a travel backpack but a photography backpack too! Although this is literally the most expensive thing I own, I will never need to buy another backpack again. It has a lifetime warranty too, so if anything happens to it, I can easily replace it. Let’s get into the exciting features of the bag.
Photography Bundle
I will also note that I bought both the backpack and the add on photography bundle which came with a hard-shell cube to store all of my photography gear. If you aren’t a photographer, then you don’t need this added purchase. If you are a photographer though, I highly recommend getting at least this bundle. I adore the safety and organizational factor that the cube has. And I can find my Sony Mirrorless Camera, my long lens, my Mavic Pro drone, its controller and two batteries, and more!
Clam Shell Opening
You can probably tell by now, that I love a good clam shell backpack! This bag makes all of your gear accessible instead of having to dig through everything. A great way to keep everything organized too!
Quick Side Access to Camera – Best Travel Backpack for Women
If you decide to purchase the photography bundle with the backpack, then you can store your camera right at the side access pocket. This makes it extremely easy to grab your camera on the go without even take the backpack off your back! It’s genius!
Extra 5L Storage
The top of the bag is not only another access point into the bag, but it also acts as more storage! You can pack 5 extra liters of gear into the rollable top and secure it with the hook on the front. I love having this option for when I am out and about. Whether you want to throw a rain jacket in or some souvenirs, there is plenty of room in this bag!
Laptop Sleeve
Of course, you need a laptop sleeve too! Not only does this bag have one laptop sleeve BUT TWO! I can fit my 16” MacBook Pro in one sleeve no problem and then add my work laptop or an iPad into the second.
Adjustable Water Bottle Holder
Another reason this bag is better than the rest is because it has an adjustable water bottle holder. I like carrying A LOT of water, so I hate when I have to use up precious inside the bag storage with a giant water bottle. But this bag has something I have ever seen before which is the adjustable holder. You can use this feature for a huge water bottle like me or a tripod!
Other Sizes
This bag also comes in 21 Liter and 41 Liter!
The Brevite Backpack Everyday Backpack – Best Lightweight Backpack for Travel
Finally, Brevite’s Everyday Backpack! This is my best friend’s backpack, but I have had my fair share of carrying it around the globe. Much like the Wandrd Prvke, this backpack can be a photography bag or a regular travel bag.
Personally, if I was going to choose between the two, I would say if you aren’t worried about carrying around photography gear, go with the Brevite Backpack since it is a more traditional, everyday bag. But it also has some great features!
Photography Storage
This bag also has amazing storage for photography gear. You can fit a huge Cannon DSLR, a long lens, a macro lens, and a Sony Mirrorless Camera. All in the bottom portion of the bag which has padded removable organization pads to keep everything safe and organized!
Multiple Access Points
I love the top access and the front access options! You can use the bag as a single storage bag, or you can divide it into two compartments for a bit more organization. Don’t forget the side access point! If you do have a camera in the bottom compartment, then you can grab your camera from the side access point without ever taking off the backpack!
Water Bottle Holder
Don’t forget to hydrate! This bag has a great water bottle holder. What makes this one different than the average water bottle holder is that it has a fancy strap that holds the water bottle in place from the top! So clever!
Laptop Sleeve
Yes, there is a laptop sleeve, but unfortunately it does not fit my gigantic 16” laptop. But it would fit an iPad, kindle, or a smaller laptop.
