If you are like me and you travel with only a carryon, this bag is basically an essential item for travel. Not only does it work to store your liquids for TSA, but you can also just use it as a regular toiletry bag! I can fit the majority of my necessities into this little guy for a shorter trip. Even better, it’s saving the planet of more wasted plastic.

Just going away for the weekend? You don’t need to bring your whole bathroom with you then, so why have a toiletry bag that bulky? There’s nothing worse than showing up to your destination with a million bags and getting the joke, “You moving in?” 

One of the most important features in a travel bag for toiletries is organization. I hate when everything is thrown into a bag, and you have to dig through everything you packed just to find your toothbrush. 

So, the best thing to look for when buying a toiletry bag is pockets! That way everything has a home, and there’s no digging involved. Better yet, find a bag with separate compartments too! My favorite bag I have ever owned had two separate sections and both had pockets. Everything was so organized because every single item had a place to live.

Lastly, we have the one and only hanging toiletry bag. I really recommend everyone have one of these in their go to travel bags. There is nothing worse than showing up at your Airbnb only to find that there is no room on the bathroom vanity for your toiletries. 

Having a toiletry bag that can hook onto the towel rack, shower rod, or doorknob is not only a space saver but also the most convenient thing you’ll ever use! What would make it better is if the toiletry bag has a hook and pockets!

But in all honesty, the most important feature a travel bag for toiletries should have is waterproof material. Ever have your shampoo bottle leak all over your suitcase and clothes? It’s genuinely the worst thing to experience when you just arrive at your destination and have nothing to wear because everything is soaked with shampoo.

So, in conclusion, to make the perfect toiletry bag it must have pockets, separate compartments, a hook for hanging, and waterproof material. Unfortunately, none of my favorite toiletry bags are name brand. They all came from random places. But there are plenty of stores that sell them like TJ Maxx, Target, Amazon, etc. 

And of course, everyone is different when they travel. Some of these things may not seem important to you. You may not carry a lot of toiletries, or you may carry a whole suitcase of makeup and creams. 

Whatever the case, the most important factor of a bag is the size. Finding a toiletry bag that is the perfect size and includes all the features above is the most impossible task of them all. A task that I am still trying to accomplish.
